Shopping in Oludeniz
Most shops are on the busy pedestrian walkway which runs down to the beach and in Hisaronu village. Find a good genuine fake whether it be a watch, a handbag, a designer T-shirts or a perfume… all at bargain prices!
Fethiye: What to look for in Paspatur;beautiful carpets and kilims…many antique ones with naturally dyed wools. Each one tells a story, and after visiting a few shops you will be able to tell the story yourself….but do not get too carried away! Fine hand-painted ceramics, glassware and other objets d’art. The better ones are expensive... But there is always a cheaper version! Leatherware…fine antelope, thicker calf skins and all at reasonable prices….try bargaining! Genuine designer boots and shoes, jeans and jackets, sportswear, and as ever a selection of ‘genuine fakes’.
Fethiye's new multi store shopping centre Erasta is a modern, user-friendly and spacious; cool in summer, warm in winter. In the shopping area a variety of Turkish brands vie with foreign ones. There is an enclosed children’s play area, a cinema with foreign films and an open-air theatre. You can leasurely do all your shopping here including food...
Oludeniz; most of the shops are on the main pedestrian walkway which runs down to the beach. There are several chemists open till late seven days a week. There are shops selling provisions and postcards. The post office (on the road to the Blue Lagoon) is open five days a week 9 am to 5 pm.
Hisaronu’s shops are conveniently located on the main Hisaronu drag. This road is closed to traffic during the evening, allows pedestrians to browse in the shops, study the menus boards and get a for taste of the Hisaronu nightlife. Dolmus services run till midnight. Hisaronu has 24 hour shops, chemists and health services.
Silver & Gold
Turkish jewellers are among the best in the world. All items are sold by weight with extra amount added for craftsmanship. Gold is 14-22 carat. There are thick gold chains, fine rings with precious stones etc….or you go for platinum. If you are not sure about the price, get a similar item priced in another shop.
a vast array of colourful take-home souvenirs: glass, pottery, metalwork etc. If at a loss pick up a couple of boxes of Turkish Delight…and taste before you buy!
