Oludeniz Boat Trips
Daily boat trips offer excellent swimming stops. The gullet will anchor near an old port, by an island or at the entrance to a sea-cave.
The ‘daily boat trip’ has become quite a ‘tradition’ among visitors. Prices are very reasonable and include a very passable lunch, with choice of meat or fish. Getting on and off the boats can be difficult and the music can be quite loud….but this is all part of the fun. There will be many helping hands to get you on board, and you can ask the crew to turn the music down if necessary. Daily boat trips offer excellent swimming stops. The gullet will anchor near an old port, by an island or at the entrance to a sea-cave. Most boats leave about 10.30 am to return late afternoon.
There are several possibilities:
* 5 Island Boat Trip…leaves from Oludeniz Beach
* 12 Island Boat trip…leaves from Fethiye Harbour.
* Moonlight Boat Trip...depends upon the moon!
Swim in the Blue Cave and then come ashore at Butterfly Valley. If you are feeling energetic, climb up to the waterfall and you might glimpse a rare Tiger Moth.
PRIVATE BOAT HIRE...
by the day
Some families may wish to hire a smaller boat for a day so that they can snorkel, fish and avoid the crowds.
Prices will be higher than the public service, but you can plan the trip yourselves.
You may even catch your own lunch !
PRIVATE GULLET HIRE…
by the week
Decide on a two-centre holiday. Why not spend one week at sea and one on land. The larger gullets have a minimum of 8 double cabins. They have en-suite bathrooms with constant hot water and A/C. The crew are used to cooking for visitors. They can whip up a meal to your specifications. Prior to leaving port you may accompany the chef to the market to buy in your stores. Private gullet departures have flexible dates.
These are hired out by the hour….fuel is expensive and you would not wish to run out in the middle of the sea! Therefore rather than aiming for Rhodes steer towards one of the local isolated coves with your snorkeling gear and a picnic.
Water-skiing, ringo and banana are popular and can be found off the local beaches. Jet-ski is not licensed in the area, however there are some people who offer this possibility.
